PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
1978 - 1991 The Christian Science Monitor, Boston, Massachusetts
Pop music critic for the international newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor. Worked in various positions, including listings editor, assistant editor for the arts pages, and assistant features editor. In the 1980s, wrote articles for World Monitor Magazine. In 1989 began producing programs for Monitoradio in English and Portuguese; in 1991 began working in television as a cultural reporter on a news program anchored by John Hart on the Discovery Channel. Was contracted soon after to produce programs for The Monitor Channel, appearing as a music critic in English and Spanish (El Monitor de Hoy). During this period she interviewed great musicians such as Miles Davis, Paul Simon, Tito Puente, Wynton Marsalis, James Taylor, Queen Latifah, Ice-T, Natalie Cole, Woody Herman, Djavan, Dave Brubeck, Dizzy Gillespie, among many others. Her articles were also syndicated and appeared in various national newspapers.

1989-1992
Translator for the Department of Translations at The Christian Science Center, Boston, Massachusetts.

1992-1999
Voiceover work in English and Portuguese for New York agencies
SEM&M and Sheplin Artists & Associates.
Wrote liner notes for Concord Jazz Records
and Book of the Month Club Records.

2000 to present
Free-lance translator for BTS, Ccaps, Follow-up, Gama!, Arteletra, Press on Demand, Luz e Vida and FEB (Brazilian Spiritist Federation) (Brazil), Cristbet Traduções, Tradmais (Portugal), Skrivanek Translations Services (Bulgaria), Accent on Languages, Bowne Translations Services, Globalization Group, Inc., Transnet, AETS, InTransCo (USA), Language Networks (Holland), as well as for numerous private clients.

I have lived in Rio de Janeiro since 1998, where I work as a translator and musician. I speak Portuguese nearly 99% of the time and am deeply involved in popular Brazilian culture (samba schools, Carnival, general music scene, etc.).
